Zora Duntov’s test car for the installation of air conditioning on an LT1
This War Bonnet Yellow 1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 coupe is accompanied by a fascinating history. It was used by Chief Engineer Zora Arkus Duntov to test the efficiency of using air conditioning with the LT1 engine option; the air cleaner still bears Duntov’s treasured signature. Invited to the Bloomington Gold Special Edition and awarded NCRS Second Flight certification, it has twice appeared on the cover of Corvette Magazine, in the May 1995 and December 2000 issues and appeared in the movie Apollo 13. In addition to factory air conditioning, this extra-special LT1 incorporates a 4-speed manual transmission, black interior, power steering, brakes and windows and Rally wheels.
