About

This 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S coupe has undergone cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment. Refurbishment work included replacing body panels, refinishing the car in Bittersweet Iridescent, reupholstering the cabin in Sienna Brown vinyl, overhauling and overboring the 350ci V8, and resealing the four-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Additional details include a dual-inlet hood, a rear spoiler, a black vinyl roof, 15″ Rallye-style wheels, front disc brakes, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Pypes mufflers, and a COMP camshaft as well as a Hurst shifter, a center console, and a retro-look digital radio.

The car was fitted with a replacement dual-inlet hood, fenders, and quarter panels before being refinished in Bittersweet Iridescent with a replacement black vinyl roof during the refurbishment. Details include W-31 badging, a rear wing, bodyside moldings, black hood stripes, and dual exhaust outlets with trumpet-style finishers.

Rallye-style 15″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires that measure 235/60 up front and 245/60 at the rear. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. The car rides on 2″ drop front spindles.

The front bucket seats and a rear bench were reupholstered in Sienna Brown vinyl, while woodgrain trim accents the lower dashboard and door panels. Appointments include a center console, a Hurst shifter, a heater and defroster, a retro-look digital radio, and Fisher door sill plates. There is a hole in the headliner.

A Custom Sport steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a combination gauge with readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. An iEquus coolant temperature gauge is mounted beneath the dashboard. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 77k miles, and the selling dealer states approximately 1,400 miles have been added since the refurbishment was completed. Total mileage is unknown.

The 350ci Rocket V8 engine stamp shows 31R138390 and is said to have been overhauled and bored .030″ over during the aforementioned refurbishment and fitted with dished pistons, a COMP Cams camshaft, hardened pushrods and guides, roller rocker arms, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and high-volume oil and water pumps.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a ten-bolt rear axle with 3.23:1 gears and a limited-slip differential. The transmission and differential were resealed during the refurbishment. The exhaust system features Thornton’s manifolds, an X-pipe, and Pypes mufflers.
