Restored to Concourse Condition THE BEST BUG EVER!! Original New Mexico/Arizona car that was restored by the best guys in the business who know Volkswagens: George Meyer and Frenchy Dehoux-former president of the Wolfsburg Registry VW Club in Phoenix. This fine VW was featured in “HOT VW’s magazine issue May 2009. The paint is original factory color of Turkis L380 Interior is Ice Blue and was only a six-month production run which is a very rare color combo. The famous Lenny Copp’s of West Coast Classic Restoration did the complete interior including the Super Cool rear window blinds. The paint is stunning!. Turkis PPG two-stage paint. All trim and chrome is new or re-done and is perfect, every feature or part of this V-Dub has been restored or replaced with authentic NOS parts. It has been a fully documented restoration, solid car to start out with before the resto. Obtained is the “Birth Certificate” from Germanys Stiftung Auto Museum. The 40 hp motor has been completely been rebuilt and is better than new, it runs like a dream. Clutch and all brakes and other components are new. The floor pans and underside are beautiful and detailed to the extreme. The dash and gauges are all functioning including the optional Dehine fuel gauge. Another cool feature is the Bambus parcel tray under the dash and the period-correct Blaupunkt “Frankfurt” AM/FM long-wave radio. It even has the Blaupunkt rear speaker which sounds great and is such a cool feature! The headlight lenses are European and are perfect. On the rear bumper, the “Safety Star” actually works and lights up. There’s so much detail and beauty to this V-Dub it has to be looked at in person to appreciate the restoration and every aspect of detail that was done. The car drives at 70 MPH + with the greatest of ease and is happy driven along, and with the top open and the sun and breeze running thru, what a perfect cruise. It does not get any better than this!
