This wonderful 1962 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet was delivered new to San Antonio, Texas, and finished in the rare one-year-only color of Pacific Blue, which was only offered in 1962 for the convertible. The car remains in this color today and the current owner, a longtime Volkswagen collector, bought it from an absolutely meticulous aficionado in Phoenix, who reportedly purchased it from the second owner. Having lived an easy life in the dry climates of the Southwest and California, the consignor believes the Volkswagen has received very minimal restoration work over the years and it presents in a very well preserved condition.
Car composes incredible charm with so much attention to detail from colors, accessories and well sorted engine. The Beetle is currently equipped with a host of desirable period accessories, most notably a Judson Supercharger and Abarth exhaust. The car is also fitted with an Akkord German "picnic" radio which can slide out of the dash, rare optional green soft top, folding shifter, and EMPI accessory steering wheel. Other unique options include a rare Hazet "Tourist" tool kit that fits in the center of the spare tire, Bosch Fanfare horns, and a Hella spotlight mirror with a rare yellow halogen bulb.
The majority of early Volkswagen Beetles have been modified or neglected, and therefore, a well preserved and tastefully accessorized example like this is inarguably at the top of the list for Volkswagen enthusiasts.
